For those on the edge of golf courses-practical tip on increasing stray ball finds

For those who reside at the edge of public golf courses, if you are into collecting the stray balls the golfers knock into your yard, and then cannot find, try this simple tactic. Obtain a small quantity of those large, stark white shipping "peanuts". Then go to the areas around those magic spots, where balls seem to appear overnight, and sprinkle some of these little ball obtaining magicians in a random manner. Then, every time someone hits a ball in that area, they will see one of your decoys, run to it, see the rest of the white "peanuts", and think to himself, "no not here, just some stinking peanuts!", and go on his way, leaving the well concealed ball(now yours), behind! The author has used this method effectively for a while now, and it is also amusing to watch the golfers spot the peanuts, and trod over to them, and curse the idiot that left them there. But I have seen them leave an expensive ball right in plain view, using this golf ball retrieval system. |
