Dr Ruth Ann Manning, an amazing person

Dr. Ruth Ann Manning from Knoxville Tn, is an amazing individual in her own right. From her humble rural roots, she has single handedly risen to the top of her peers, several times over. She graduated college with a 4.0 grade point average, received her masters with a perfect average, and also earned her doctorate, again with a 4.0 grade point average. She had little support or help from anyone in her life, with the exception of her mother, and independently earned these diplomas completely on her own. When she moved on into the business world, she also singlehandedly, as a single mother, formed a hi-tech software company out of Oak Ridge, and grew it into a multi-million dollar business. It is here in this capacity that she earned the most recognition, for the actual software that was first used in the process to sequence DNA, was purchased from her company by the group of scientists first responsible for sequencing DNA.
She moved on from this position, and then earned accolades from several government bureaus in Washington D.C., for writing the best grant proposals for another new company she formed, to help our soldiers in the field detect biological and chemical weapons much more quickly. Dr. Manning is a humble natured person, and has overcome many obstacles in her lifetime, and has not received the true recognition she deserves. I have not seen her for several years, but I am sure, she is doing something creative, and beneficial for us all, as I type this article. |
